What is Zapier?

Zapier is a no-code automation platform that connects thousands of apps and services. It lets you build automated workflows (“Zaps”) without writing code, for example, “when X happens in one app, do Y in another.”

What is it for?

Zapier is used to automate repetitive tasks across tools your team already uses: sending notifications, creating tasks, updating spreadsheets, syncing data between systems, and triggering approval workflows. It is popular with finance, operations, and compliance teams that want automation without a development team.

How does the Xace + Zapier integration work?

First of all, you should select Connections — API & Webhooks. There, you can click on Accept Zapier Invite:

You will be redirected to a new tab to login into your Zapier account. After accepting, open New Zap → “Create Action” → search for Xace to start building your automations.

Technically, Xace connects to Zapier through two building blocks: API keys and Webhooks.

Webhooks

Webhooks send real-time notifications to an external URL whenever something important happens in Xace — for example, a payment is requested, approved, or declined. Instead of checking Xace manually or polling the API, your systems are notified instantly.

How a typical automation works

  1. You provide a secure endpoint URL (or connect Zapier as the receiver).

  2. When an event occurs in Xace, a JSON payload is sent to that endpoint.

  3. Zapier processes the event and triggers the next step — such as sending an email, SMS, Slack message, or creating a task in another tool.

Supported webhook events include:

PaymentRequested, PaymentApproved, PaymentDeclined, TransactionCreated, TransactionConfirmed, TransactionReceived, PayeeCreated, PayeeEdited, RecurringPaymentCreated/Edited/Cancelled, CardCreated/Blocked/Unblocked/Cancelled, InvoiceUploaded, StatementDownloaded, DocumentCreated, FXTradeCreated, and OpenBankingConsentRevoked.

Example use case

When a new payee is created in Xace (PayeeCreated event), Zapier can automatically email the finance team and send an SMS alert to the CFO.

What you can build

  • Accounting automations (sync data to Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and more)

  • Real-time alerts for large payments, card blocks, or FX trades

  • Approval workflows in Jira, Trello, or Slack

  • Automated document filing to Google Drive, SharePoint, or Dropbox

  • Audit logs and compliance monitoring

  • CRM and support ticket creation (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zendesk, and others)

No engineering effort is required — if you use Zapier, you can connect Xace to your existing tools in minutes.
